Our Chrome Extension ("The 725 Club: SNES Game Price Tracker") operates with a strong commitment to user privacy. This section explains how the extension handles data.
Data Collected by the Extension
- API Keys: Stored locally in Chrome's encrypted sync storage. Used only for authenticating API requests to the725club.com. Never shared with third parties.
- Game Listing Data: Only collected when you explicitly click the extension button and choose to submit. Includes: game title, price, condition, listing images, and marketplace URL from the page you're viewing.
- Extension Settings: Stored locally (e.g., API key configuration).
What We Do NOT Collect
- Your browsing history or visited URLs (except the specific listing page you choose to submit)
- Personal information from marketplace pages
- Payment information or account credentials
- Any data from pages you don't explicitly submit
- Analytics or tracking data
How Extension Data Is Used
- API Authentication: Your API key is transmitted only to the725club.com API endpoints for authentication when you submit price data.
- Price Submission: Game listing data you choose to submit is stored in The 725 Club database to help build community price data.
- Game Matching: When you submit a listing, we search our database to match it to existing games. This search query is processed on our servers.
User Control
You have complete control over data submission. The extension:
- Only accesses page content when you click the extension button
- Shows you all data before submission
- Requires explicit confirmation before sending data
- Allows you to edit or cancel submissions before saving
- Stores API keys locally - you can remove them anytime via extension settings
Extension Permissions
- activeTab: Allows the extension to read page content only when you click the extension button on supported marketplace pages.
- Storage: Stores your API key locally in Chrome's encrypted sync storage.
- Host Permissions: Required to inject content scripts on Buyee, Mercari US, and eBay US pages. Only activates when you visit these sites and click the extension button.
The extension does not collect or transmit any data without your explicit action. All data submission is user-initiated and user-controlled.
