Released in 1995 for the Super Famicom, Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up from Konami that continues the satirical Parodius franchise's tradition of spoofing classic shooting games and elements of Japanese pop culture. This installment stands out for its inclusion of live narration provided by voice actor Jōji Yanami, who delivers humorous commentary throughout gameplay.

Players guide their chosen character on a quest to find a mythical takoyaki dish that appears only once per century (specifically every 128 years). Gameplay follows the standard formula of navigating through side-scrolling stages while eliminating waves of enemies. The title later received enhanced ports for both the Sega Saturn and PlayStation platforms.

Critical reception in Japan was generally favorable, with magazines like Famicom Tsūshin, Total!, and Super Play giving it positive marks. Reviewers particularly enjoyed Yanami's comedic narration, though opinions diverged regarding the core gameplay.
